About the host
Hosted by Constance Hagler
Richard and I met in a whitewater canoeing course at Georgia Tech. We spent 40 years looking for a place in the mountains and found this property about 6 years ago. We love sharing this place with friends and family. It's a simple place of beauty and quiet in the Western North Carolina Mountains.
We listed the Lodge with Vacasa for a year and have decided to manage it ourselves. We have upgraded the linens to InnStyle sheets and have also upgraded the towels.

Why they chose this property
The Lodge is located near the Georgia / North Carolina line. The Nantahala National Forest is on the North Carolina side, the Chattahoochee National Forest is on the Georgia side. The diversity of flora and fauna along Betty's Creek Road and Mulberry Road is amazing. There is something beautiful to see any time of the year. People come from all over to see the trillium blooming and stretching up the mountainside in the spring.
What makes this property unique
The property is accessed by a two-lane paved road, which is great in this area. You can come from Betty's Creek Road from the south or Mulberry Road from the north. The Mulberry Road route is a bit more challenging for our friends from Florida.... Come in from the Georgia side if twists and turns make you nervous. The name of the road changes at the Georgia - North Carolina line. There's a national forest road to the right of the property with nice views in the winter. Andy's Trout farm, the Hambidge Center, Clayton, Dillard, Highlands, Franklin, Picken's Nose, the National Coweeta Hydrology Lab, Lake Burton and the Chatooga River are among the many things a quick drive away.
