In Sisters, you step back in time
Step back in time to Sisters, Oregon, a town which looks straight out of a Wild West movie with colorful wooden-clad housing flanking the main street. Surrounding the town is a nature lover's playground which you can use for hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking and fishing. While staying in one of Sisters vacation rentals, you can indulge in wonderful spas, amble through the mom and pop shops, marvel at the arts and crafts, and dig in to some fine local cuisine in the many local eateries.
Rodeos and folk festivals
Sisters has a packed schedule of events throughout the year to keep you busy. For many decades now, the Sisters Rodeo has been exhilarating fans who come to watch brave competitors battle it out at what is dubbed the Biggest Little Show in the World. If you visit in September, you can immerse yourself in the Folk Festival and listen to some of the greatest Americana music in the country. After a day of hiking, why not unwind in one of the town's spas which offer a range of treatments from facials to massages?
Lace up your boots in Sisters
Outside of Sisters, there are many outdoor activities on offer. If you like hiking, lace up your boots and hit the trails for challenging walks though the forested countryside. Alternatively, you can rent a bike and peddle along the Peterson Ridge Trail System, one of the most scenic in the US. Both of these trails can be used by horseback riders who can take guided trips. At the Lower Deschutes or the Metolius River, you can cast your line in to catch wild bass. And, if you're looking for true adventure, it's possible to spend days rafting along the rapids and camping under the stars.
